Re: synching with google/exchange/outlook?

What is it that you are trying to do? Sync to your exchange as your primary or Google as your primary? Active Sync can only handle one. Pick which one you want as your primary then set that up through Active Sync (push email). Then add the second one as a new account to just get your email (if you want exchange as your second account I think you may have to add it as an "Other" type).

Re: synching with google/exchange/outlook?

i setup my email account with the built in email app for google, i only had the the activesync setup to go to google but it said exchange, i had the m.google.com account going through google for google sync, i dont actually use exchange. And my email client wont get the emails from google either because it just takes me back to the login screen and sometimes it's changed my password, and sometimes it's doubled my password.. so i dunno what to do.

Only thing that can think of off hand is when your setting up exchange

username.. youremail@gmail.com it defaults to just your name.

Re: synching with google/exchange/outlook?

You made sure to uncheck Tasks whe it asked what info you wanted to sync, right? I don't know what would actually happen if you left it checked, but according the the Google Sync site, "Tasks is not supported and will lead to an error if checked."

I use a Gmail account, and I switched from using POP3 to Google Sync about a month ago, and I haven't encountered any issues. It's so much more convenient to never have to connect my phone to my computer via USB, to update my contacts or calender.

Re: synching with google/exchange/outlook?

You need to only set up the server source through activesync on the phone and not the HTC email setup program.

Make sure that the "use ssl" checkbox is check, use your fully email address as the username, and also make sure the password is correct (retype it).

Re: synching with google/exchange/outlook?

Is this the same situation as mine where my gmail account will synch up send/receive, read/unread/deleted emails with gmail and my phone. However, I also setup my personal PC Exchange Outlook to send/receive my Gmail, but it will not synch up read/unread/deleted emails. Although I read my Gmails from my PC, the Gmail site and my phone still shows unread or undeleted.
