Re: Sprint 6.5 - disable opera splash screen at load

i dont think you can 'disable' the load screen, only change its picture. for this you would have to locate it in the windows folder and replace it with a picture of the same name. (i think) |

Re: Sprint 6.5 - disable opera splash screen at load
But my question is, why i have this delay when the previous version was opening Opera right away when i touched the "globe".
Is not a matter i don t like the pic, iis a matter that i don t need to wait that long to have the program starting. Any other idea someone else ? |

Re: Sprint 6.5 - disable opera splash screen at load
On the stock 6.1 ROM, Opera never closed. It stayed open, even if you clicked the X. This was to allow push internet to work. Lots of people disabled this behavior since it used up memory, slowed down the phone, and ran the battery down faster even when you weren't actively browsing in Opera. It seems like they got rid of push internet on the 6.5 ROM. If you want Opera to stay running in the background (and thus load instantaneously after the first launch), you can change the registry to restore that behavior.
Add the following Dword key: HCU/Software/HTC\TaskManager\ExclusiveList\System\Opera9.exe and set it to 0. |

Re: Sprint 6.5 - disable opera splash screen at load
Download a registry editor. I use PHM RegEdit on the phone or CeRegEditor on the PC with my phone connected to the PC. The registry will look like a PC file system with +'s to indicate more data underneath. There are 3 main sections, HCU stands for HKEY_CURRENT_USER. Just keep opening the sections that match each "directory" name until you get down to System, then with system selected, you want to add a new DWORD key and name it Opera9.exe and set its value to 0. In CeRegEditor, you right click on System to bring up the menus->New->DWORD value. In PHM RegEdit, you just select Edit in the menu->New DWORD value. Wait a couple of minutes to make sure the entry "took" and then power your phone off and on.
