This is how to do it:

1- open opera mobile 10
2 - on the navigation bar type: "opera:config" and hit go or enter.
3 - Go all the way to "user prefs" and click on it.
4 - Look for 'custom user agent' (it shold be blank)
5 - and write the following string code: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_0 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/420.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.0 Mobile/1A542a Safari/419.3
6 - Save it and close the configuration window, that's all.

would this also allow us to use the html-5 google voice web app?

Not unless Opera Mobile supports HTML 5, which I don't think it does.

Not that I'm aware of, but that doesn't necessarily mean that there aren't.

I don't know and I haven't tried it.

*Remember this is Opera 10 emulating the Safari browser, in other words tricking the websites.

if you set the zoom level to 80% it works good.

I have done that, since it appears that no code fixing exists for this.
I'm currently using the 80% zoom, it's the only way that works for now.

And guys FYI you can do it also for the IE mobile, and IE does resize the pages automatically - thing of beauty!

I'll soon post the steps you need to take for the change.

I can't believe so many people are just figuring out how to change the string. We've been this for years. anybody who had no idea about changing strings needs to thank the op.
