using TP2's GPS with notebook?

I just recently tried one of sprints unlimited (50/mo) aircards (u598 on business account) as a possible replacement for my unlimited (65-70/mo) verizon usb720 card. I was very disapointed by the lack of the evdo rev a in my area (wilmington, nc) which is what I've come to love. I did however love the communications port nmea that was perfect for google earth, ms streets and maps 2010, etc. to get real time gps.. I'd rather not have to pay for another card on verizon if I could get my gps on the phone to piggy back through the pc... anyone tried it?
