Windows update and .net?
Hi,
Under Settings, there is a link to Windows Update. Is it ever supposed to do anything? I've clicked on it a few times, but it always spends about 10 minutes doing something, then comes back with "unsuccessful." The reason I ask is I've tried to install a few cabs that give me the message that I need a newer version of .net framework. How can I 1. determine which framework I have, and 2. get a newer version that will work with programs (for example, I wanted to try gvo)? Thanks! :) |
Re: Windows update and .net?
to answer your first question re: windows update..no it doesnt work...its a feature put in for just in case purposes. to answer your question re: .net i have to ask you what type of rom are you using? custom or stock...if stock sprint you're using .net 2.0 and all you would need to do is seach for .net 3.5 or 3.7 and install it...can even be installed to the storage card.

Re: Windows update and .net?
I think there is a cab for .net3.5 posted in the favorite cabs thread.
Here it is: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/attachment...0&d=1266501656 |

Re: Windows update and .net?
Many thanks to you both! (except for MS' "just in case" link, hahaha)
Somehow I missed the update in the favorites thread, been following it, but there's a lot of (great) info in there. Oh, and yes, stock ROM. As long as it's mostly working okay for me (battery seems to be my only complaint at this point), I don't see a need to hack. And it seems like you guys get addicted to hacking, lol |

Re: Windows update and .net?
Any regrets? I really like the TP2 (hardware-wise), and can't afford to switch right now anyway, but I'm just curious.
