Glass replacement on TP2

Man.....just dropped my TP2. Anyone have any good info on how to replace the glass? The touchscreen is still working fine but I'm not sure if the glass and the screen are one in the same. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Glass replacement on TP2

Power it on and take a picture so I can see if the lcd is distorted you probably just cracked the digitizer and that is separate from the lcd (In most ever phone I've seen I used to own a phone repair shop). If you did crack the lcd I probably have one I could get you for 50 bucks (I dont know if that is a good deal just that's what it will cost me so you will have to pay shipping or it will cost me money to get it to you)

If the phone works go the insurance route. Call in be like I need insurance they will call your phone and have you answer THEN put it on there then if you like ran your car over with your phone you should be fine if you need more help pm me or post on my wall thingy.

I can't find a teardown for that phone but if you end up buying that LCD I will make one when I tear it apart.

Sorry I could not be more help

Re: Glass replacement on TP2

Thanks for your response. It appears its only the screen, nothing looks distorted at all. So with that being said, its just the digitizer then?

Is this what I need? http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/25...HTC_Touch.html

Re: Glass replacement on TP2

I dunno how it works for TP2, but I know that a digitizer is the touchscreen. You just need the glass, not the touchscreen, since your touchscreen and lcd still work.

Re: Glass replacement on TP2

ok sounds good. I have come across a couple TP disassembly guides, but nothing for the TP2. Can anyone point me in the right direction for replacing the digitizer on the TP2? I been Googling but not coming up with anything yet

Re: Glass replacement on TP2

Sorry to double post, but does anyone know where I might be able to find a guide to disassemble the TP2 screen? I've seen some partial disassemblies but nothing for the screen

Re: Glass replacement on TP2

The touchscreen on the TP2 IS the digitizer. I have access to GSM Touch Pro2 parts but not CDMA yet.

I have a big crack but my touchscreen works still but after 3 months I decided to get a replacement TP2 for demo purposes to showcase to my customers.

To the OP, if you have TEP, pay the $100 and get a new device

Re: Glass replacement on TP2

Why pay 100 when you can get a part and replace it yourself for cheaper?

Thats exactly what I'm saying. I already ordered the digitizer, so I now I just need to find some documentation on taking the TP2 apart. I'm doing it regardless anyways but it'd be great to know exactly how to do it so does anyone have any documentation on disassembling it?
