help:backlight setting fails to perform

i don't why this happens.

go to settings-system-power-backlight-supporting by battery.

my original setting was that then the phone is idle for 1 minute, dim the backlight. however, this time period is always changed by something which makes it back to the default 10 secends...

does anybody know how to solve this problem?

thanks a lot.

Re: help:backlight setting fails to perform

I've run into this before, and haven't figured out exactly what triggers this, but this is how to fix it:

HKCU\Control Panel\Backlight\LockLevel\LockLevel - the dWord there should be 0. I've found it set to 1 or 2, for no apparent reason.

Re: help:backlight setting fails to perform

Thanked you! My D word was 1, setting always defaulted back to 10 sec which wasn't quite enough sometimes. Now have it at 30 sec which I like.

Re: help:backlight setting fails to perform

Glad this worked for you all.

I haven't determined precisely what triggers this behavior, but at times, it seems to occur if I have the TP2 plugged into a power source, and reset it. For example, I have SPB Backup run every night at 10:00 pm, and if it's plugged in to power, it does its thing, it soft resets when it's done, and at least some of the time this Registry key gets changed.

So I suspect it's something along these lines, but really haven't conclusively researched it.
