having some Email connection Issues

I just set my TP2 up on metropcs. Phone,text,web,and mms all seem to work. now Im trying to set up email. Im going to be setting up my gmail, and my work email.
I started with my gmail account, and I found that it just wont connect when using my carrier, but if I use the wifi, it works.

Does anyone have any ideas, or a link to a solution?
I searched around the net, but I come up with original touch pro info only.
