1x to EV and tethering..
 

That's my question.. maybe I didn't see it right.. but I swear I was travelling had 1x tether (probably) and watched it switch EV.. on the touch pro 2 with sprint..

Was I mistaken or is it possible to now have your tethered connection upgraded (Switch 1x to ev) w/ stock rom?? And or does it work like that with a loaded rom.. like mightyrom?

Master P. Depending on the area where you are and the coverage available you get what is available. 1X or EV.
Now, when you tether you have the available speed in the area, it could be either or.

i been tethering quite a bit lately and have noticed the switch. usually i start out in EV but if i get a text and reply it goes to 1x. but after a short time it will switch back to EV.

Thats normal, sms messages are sent over the 1x channel

yeah i knew that but in the past it would stay at 1x (from EV to 1x when sms sent) and I would have to close the connection to reset back to EV. now i can just wait it out by minimizing internet activity (no pages loading, etc.).

would be nice to find a way to speed up tethering while in data roaming/1X mode.....when I go to my parents for vacation and tether w/my laptop, internet is so slow, it's not worth the effort

All I'm saying is the touch pro and mogul didn't use to do this.. so this is nice to see fixed in touch pro 2..
