Will Sprint TP2 work in Panama?

My brother-in-law went to Panama over the weekend and his Samsung Ace wouldnt work. He loves my TP2 and wanted to know if it would work there. Called Sprint and they said it would, but then again they said the Samsung Ace would too.

No problem, the tp2 is really a great and versatile phone to own in my opinion. It hasn't failed me yet unlike my tp1 and mogul and being cdma/gsm my phone have worked every place I have been and I have been to some very strange places recently.

Needs to be sim unlocked.. eh? Might want to get a local sim, maybe included sprint sim more expensive to use. Not sure as I have not done this, but I'd go in with both eyes open.

Make sure you have International Roaming active on your account. Failure to have this feature active on your account will prevent your phone (even the ACE) to roam on foreign networks.

It does work. Here is how you set it up and the doc is attached for Local GPRS setup data for most countries.

1.Talk on phone
2. Press menu then options
3. Click the Network on the top
4. Under mode of operation, choose GSM/UTMS only
5. Settings
6. Go to connections
7. Add New modem connection
8. name whatever name you like
9. Under Select a modem, you need to select Celular line (GPRS, 3G)
10. Next enter access point for Claro(claro.com.br) or whatever operator
11. Next enter user name and password. You will find this on pdf
12. Press finish and enter manage connections and select the name you created.

These steps are not needed if you install ADC.

I have only used this in Thailand, Brazil, Mexico and I am sure you won't have an issue in Panama.

Hope this helps.
