disable auto ICS on USB connection

How can I keep ICS from launching everytime I plug my TP2 into my PC? Its feature that I rarely use and its annoying to keep having to disconnect to avoid data usage when I only need to sync/charge.

Thanks

New Sprint TP2 user (just changed from 10 years with Palm smartphones)

Re: disable auto ICS on USB connection

i'm assuming you're using sprint's stock 6.1 rom.
if so, i believe what you're looking for is in start>settings>connections>usb to pc

Re: disable auto ICS on USB connection

I tried that and it makes no difference and to which of the two settings I choose. Besides I mainly use the USB connection to charge and sync several apps so ActiveSync is needed.

Re: disable auto ICS on USB connection

tp2 has a pop-up that allows you to choose between activesync, disk drive, and internet sharing. do you have "Ask me first about USB connection type when I connect the device to the PC" checked?

Re: disable auto ICS on USB connection

thanks, i used the ask first and set it to active sync with dont ask again. weird that there is not an internet sharing option in the USB to PC menu, only active sync and disk drive.

i thought about that shortly after posting. on stock sprint, there's only those two as they don't allow internet sharing without a hack
