Data Connection keeps on turning itself off

I have noticed that the data connection on my TP2 is constantly turning itself off without me changing any settings. I am constantly having to go to the communications section of the settings to turn it back on. Has this happened to anyone else? What could be the culprit?

It is happening to me for the last two days. I'm running a cooked rom but I don't think that is the problem as other versions haven't had that problem...Earlier today I couldn't get it to even turn on for a while. I'm sorry but I have no idea what is causing it. MY sprint data card does it sometimes also.

I am running the official Sprint ROM. In addition the phone has been rebooting a few times a day also. Both of these occurrences are fairly recent.

I've been having reboot for month now, including sometimes data conenction going off..my guess the culprit is the sprint radio as verizon, telus and others are not experiencing this issue. (this existed in all roms including stock, 6.1 and 6.5)

I could be wrong, but I thought the data connection turns itself off if not in use? I know the advanced config cab would let you go in and set how long after the data connection was not in use that it would turn itself off. Kinda save battery I guess. I know I can turn my data connection off. Then if I hit update weather it will turn itself on when needed.

It isn't logical for your data connection to turn off. Does a setting like this actually exist in the official Sprint ROM?

You don't need to have your data connection constantly running. If you or anything your phone is doing in the background needs data it will simply connect. You don't need to go into comm manager and manually connect it.

I do not believe you are correct in your statement. Whenever I have noticed my data connection is turned off and I then manually activate it, I receive emails as soon as the scheduled send/receive takes place on my pop3 accounts that were sitting on my ISP's server.

I was actually wondering about this myself, but I figured it was some app I installed.

I'm running MightyRom latest, I believe the 2.23 Verizon radio, and I'm on Telus.

im on us cellular got same prob. data is off but its suposed to connect when needed. but when i go to say weather while its off. i get connection error and have to go turn it on to get anything done.
