With a registry editor, do the following:
Go to HKLM/Security/Shell/StartInfo/Start/ and then look for the registry key you want to edit. If you want to edit something like (for example) the Opera icon in the Internet folder, you would go to: HKLM/Security/Shell/StartInfo/Start/Internet/Opera.lnk (or something like that) Now create a new STRING value and name it "Icon" and then change the 'value' of that string to the location of the icon image file you want to use (i.e. \Storage Card\Icons\NewOperaIcon.png Soft reset when you're all done |

there is also a program called restart available in cab form at xda. it handles the necessary registry changes from a GUI. if you want I can post a cab when i get in front of my computer but it should be pretty easy to find using bing.

I could use file explorer extension. use 2.05 bc 2.06 has too many bugs.

I use Icon Changer for my one off icon change needs. It's worth a try
