Lightbulb R-UIM(cdma) Qpst Findings(Touch Pro 2)

I was in the service programming of my touch pro 2 and found these settings in the qpst, i have never seen these in any other htc device i have worked on or owned! Any body have some insite!! i want to see how deep this rabbit hole goes!!

What does this mean!!?

When i look at this i think "is the verizon touch pro 2 r-Uim enabled/capable?'

Re: R-UIM(cdma) Qpst Findings(Touch Pro 2)

I doubt it. It's probably just leftovers or manufacturer-based options considering the device is made in Taiwan, where I think they actually use R-UIM cards.

What would really be interesting would be the ability to hack out the 850/1900MHz UMTS/HSPA bands.

Re: R-UIM(cdma) Qpst Findings(Touch Pro 2)

ok so far i have found a japan based company that uses cdma via r-uim sim cards!! i will be buying a pack of prepaided cards from them for testing!!

Also they have a HTC Touch Pro that is compatible with r-uim!!!

im doing all this so i can find out if it is possible to use a sim with a esn to access cdma via a unlocked gsm device!!!

if anyone find info please post!!

You have to keep in mind that the radio built onto the chipset of the device must have the required US CDMA bands, any unlocked GSM phone wouldn't work since they don't have those.

Re: R-UIM(cdma) Qpst Findings(Touch Pro 2)

as in india we have ruim available for cdma i have already tried out using esn based and meid based ruim (reliance india) on tp2 it did not work.
i am using shipped sprint rom and radio.
the meid based ruim i can transfer and read my contacts and phone number .
i have tried ruim if available and only ruim mode .
would require a radio which can read data from ruim and config it for cdma network .

Wirelessly posted (AdrianH85(TP2): Opera/9.5(Microsoft Windows; PPC; Opera Mobi/16643; U; en) HTC_Touch_Pro2)

im not jump to it wont work because of a radio! there are htc devices that have working ruim radios! im sure there is someone that can pull what we need and port it to the tp2 radio!! its not hardware thats stopping us its software/firmware! the touch pro on au(china cdma) uses ruim to connect to there network!

also are u just trying to make it work on a cdma device or are u trying make the ruim sim work on a gsm device! i ask because i am looking a both!!
