VPN with Telus?

Does anyone know if Telus is purposefully blocking PPTP? Either port 1723 or GRE? I can't seem to connect to my VPN when I'm tethered, but it (generally) works if I'm connected through a non-cellular connection...

Re: VPN with Telus?

you need to purchase the vpn access bundle... 5 bux a month... gives you a public IP instead of the private one...

i still can't for the life of me connect to our MS RRAS (2003) server...

going to try and set up a vpn policy on our cisco ASA soon and give that a shot...

from what i've heard (and experienced) the built in vpn client doesn't like cisco or vice versa -- could be telus mucked something up and it just doesn't like to work at all...

Re: VPN with Telus?

Is there some configuration settings that apply to setting up the VPN to work over the cell line?

I set up my simple VPN connection (PPTP)

VPN works fine when connected through Wi-Fi

I went and got Telus to add the VPN bundle, but the VPN won't connect over my data connection.

I called Telus they sent me to HTC. HTC tells me that if my phone can see the internet over the data connection then it must be an issue with my VPN setting on my VPN server. This smells like BS to me...

Has anyone been successful in with the TP2 and VPN over the data connection?

Perhaps there is a simple step I am missing in configuring the "My Work Network" settings. I read somewhere about having to add a cellular modem connection (i.e. the #777) but it asks for a user name and password.

Going nuts trying to figure this out. The whole point of getting the TP2 and windows mobile was for Remote Desktop while on the road.
