Are You Stickng With Stock Roms Or Flashing?

I'm kind of contemplating flashing now but im having no issues at all with my stock rom (verizon). Anybody out there flashed yet? is it worth flashing to you? i had the tp1 with verizon and there was definately a NEED to flash but with this ungimped tp2 theres not much need to flash except to get rid of the bloatware, and graphical changes and tricks added on the newer roms.

if you're flashing what roms would you suggest and what features are added? im trying to decide if im going to flash or not

Re: Are You Stickng With Stock Roms Or Flashing?

I'm on Sprint and I tried a bunch of different ROMs. Here's the thing, the stock ROM works SO well that there really isn't any point in flashing to another ROM.

The only HUGE improvement in "Features" that you see is if you flash to a Manila 2.5 ROM which is leaps and bounds ahead of 2.0 or 2.1. Unfortunately, the 2.5 ROMs are pretty buggy right now and there's no landscape support. I really really want a 2.5 ROM that's fast and stable. I'll be flashing to it as soon as I start hearing about it but for now, I'm just going to stick to MightyMike's 2.1 ROM. Even though it's not a huge improvement over the actual "experience" you have with the phone

Re: Are You Stickng With Stock Roms Or Flashing?

Tried the new roms, sticking with stock, least buggy, and its tweaked out enough for me lol.

Thanks to CMYLXGO's BIG Pimp Package
-= TouchPro2 Edition =-

Which gives you the ability to have custom start up animation, colored TF3D icons, and a few other things, and if you only want one part of it, you can just download it.

Re: Are You Stickng With Stock Roms Or Flashing?

Honestly, I'm no happier with my MightyROM than I was with my stock ROM and CMYLXGO's BIG Pimp Package. Maybe that will change as more ROMs come, and the current ones evolve, but I would have been fine with my stock ROM and my few tweaks

I'm not any happier with the cooked roms either. I have tried most of them. I think I had too long to get used to the stock rom...lol now everything seems out of place. I'm using MightyMike's now and it is fine but I didn't need it like I did with the tp1.

Re: Are You Stickng With Stock Roms Or Flashing?

I'm glad I really got the hang of the stock Verizon rom. It was very stable, and had no problems (that I have experienced). I flashed the mightyrom yesterday morning, and my thoughts are I do like the new Manilla screen, Windows seems to be taken over even more by Manilla (kinda nice). As far as speed, I haven't really noticed anything (maybe it looks better on paper). I did notice a few bugs (on my phone). My Outlook continues to open. Not sure why. I do, and yet at the same time don't like the new start menu. I like that it's more organized, but I have to get used to it. I did get used to the 4-column tweak from the old start menu. I'm not sure if I like that it takes a few more steps to get to certain applications (although the Programs tab is back in TF3D - which works with the 4 column tweak).

That being said, I think I will keep this rom for a while. See how it grows on me. I don't dislike it to go back to stock, but I would prefer some changes. Maybe I'll make my own rom (if I can learn how to play with the kitchen).

Re: Are You Stickng With Stock Roms Or Flashing?

i flashed the roms because i need WM 6.5..it more finger friendly and nicer looking that 6.1

also i have NRGZ rom manila 2.1 and everything works perfect..i even found cabs i need to customize more to my liking.

after alot of extra customizing, it perfect i can never go back to the stock sprint on wm 6.1

the only thing is wish is that they can port the way the Leo rom allows you to type messages

other than that its perfect, stable and smooth!
