Re: Add an Image to Outlook Signature? HELP!!!

You have to use html coding to get the picture in the signature....

and you also have to have the image on a public webspace somewhere that the email recipients can get to.....otherwise they will not see the picture, only the text version of the image.

Something like this:
<img src="angry.gif" alt="Angry face" />

Sort of on a similar note, how about embedding an image in the e-mail body? (instead of as an attachment). I know iPhones attach images as body content rather than attachments.

i will have to test this but maybe copying and pasting into the body of the email.
to paste you will need rhodium keyboard controller or similar to allow for the paste function as the stock context menu paste is greyed out.

again have not tested this...just putting it out there.

Frickin pOutlook. I just got an e-mail from an iPhone user with an embedded picture. I wanted to forward that to someone else, and it'll forward fine (with the picture embedded). As soon as I say edit senders message, it erases the picture, and leaves the text! I want to erase the text, and just forward the pic. Damnit...

also, I cannot save the embedded image to the device. Really lame that it has these faults.

Re: Add an Image to Outlook Signature? HELP!!!

I feel ya! I've had this same frustration!

The other thing I can't stand (hey...you opened the door to beef on pOutlook - i'm walkin thru it!) is when I try to copy text in a forwarded message. You have to first "Edit Sender's Message" and then all html coding and formatting is lost!

Closing door a little

Re: Add an Image to Outlook Signature? HELP!!!

There's also the question not of how to do this but rather of whether you should do it.

Signatures are among some of the most annoying things on earth to some people to begin with. Images in signatures would just up the ante.

If I had to pay for data transfer (as some people do) and some eejit made me pay to download some picture every time I got an email from him, I'd do whatever it took to ensure I never got another email from him.

Maybe that's your goal, but if not you should be aware of the possibility.

Not sure what the beef is, because of data charges for downloading? Signatures can be very useful - especially from a business standpoint. Name, address, contact info, attached vcard, company logo, website address, etc. Granted sometimes there is unnecessary stuff (such as advertisements from hotmail & msn accounts), but it could be helpful.

I tried to say that as clearly as possible.

"Helpful," perhaps. They still strike me, and many others, as inappropriate especially in a business context. Sometimes a .sig is longer than the actual email. Many are truly cringe-worthy.

What you're talking about, essentially, is advertising. You may like sending it but that doesn't mean others like reading it. Some of your recipients are probably still on dial-up. Most people around here, for example, can only get high-speed internet via satellite which is very expensive. Downloading useless graphics just to read an email is annoying to such people. In a business context there are more important things than self-promotion. Not pissing off the customers would be one of those things.
