Answer Problems?

Has anyone ever experienced the following problem? I have experienced it with my original Touch pro and now Pro 2. The phone displays an incoming call but when I slide the bar over to answer, it displays that it has answered but it really hasn't. The call then rolls to voicemail, then displays "one missed call". Same with pressing the "answer' hard button. It just won't answer the calls. I have the phone 2 months, and this just started, but the same thing happened with my PRO before upgrading to the PRO 2. A hard reset cures the problem temporarily but is a pain for obvious reasons. Any ideas?

If you have a program that disconnects data after a certain period of time, say 60 seconds, this causes this to occur. It did in my situation at least. Removed the program and answered calls like a charm.

That makes perfect sense, because I just realized that I have also been getting that little annoying window message that says "dialing #777 to connect to Sprint...". Apparently it IS disconnecting!! But my next question would be what program might do that? I'm not sure what the culprit is. Any ideas or guesses as to what program might do that? I can't figure out what it is.

Most of the time it is Advance Config or Diamond Tweak that were prone to the TP having these issues whcih make a change in the reg, it looks like it is also causing the same on the TP2.

If you have one of these two, check the data connection area, I for one dont use these program I do all my tweaks manual. I had this same problem on my TP back in the days and it was AC causing the issue.

If you are not afraid to mess with the reg, then check the setting in the reg to see if they have been changed.

This if from the TP Essentials:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=42730
"Issues with answering your phone when a data connection is open (answer buttons don't do anything)? Looks like a tweak messes up a registry key that affects this. [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\ConnMgr\Planner\Settings], make sure SuspendResume is set to #777 (not anything containing GPRS). This issue seems to be related to Advanced Config."

OK!!! You were right! I went through the Advanced Config Sys and found that the setting for "phone as modem" was set as always on, rather than SPRINT as always on. Toggled it back to SPRINT, problem fixed. Thanks.

Your welcome, If I remember AC and DT are really meant for GSM phones that is why not all of the tweaks will work on CDMA phones.
