SPB Mobile Shell v3.5.3 Menu Fix

For you SPB Mobile Shell fans, there's a working fix to re-enable the HTC pop up menus with MS v3.5.3

From AndyDavidson at XDA:
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=621146

Its a registry fix, I made a quick cab if anyone is interested.

Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\GWE\Menu]
CUIHandler = 1 (dword)

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\HTCMenus]
EnableManilaCheck = 0 (dword)
Attached Files
File Type: cab Enable_HTC_Menus.cab (1.4 KB, 468 views) Click for barcode!

Does this enable the HTC task manager?

I just tried it and no it does not.

I dont see the big appeal of the htc task manager though.

I'm using ArkSwitch at the moment, simple and gets the job done

Re: SPB Mobile Shell v3.5.3 Menu Fix

I manually made the registry changes per the original post at XDA. Actually, the first key the dword was already set to 1, so the only thing I did was create the second key. The cool thing was I didnt even need to soft reset to get it working, as soon as I saved the new key the menus changed.

Very cool find.

I am confused as to what menus you are all talking about. Could someone explain? Thanks.

Re: SPB Mobile Shell v3.5.3 Menu Fix

Sorry to be a bit slow here, but what are the HTC popup menus? I have been using each version of SPB Mobile shell--currently 3.5.3, and I'm wondering if there is a feature I am missing. Thanks.

I almost made a new thread, but i'll give you credit

I found that tweak to work for the menu and 3.5.3

Now I await for a new version of MS for newer stuff.

I still have no idea what menu's you are referring too. I already have those entries in my registry, and I did not add them.

Re: SPB Mobile Shell v3.5.3 Menu Fix

Look in your text or email areas and hit the bottom menu buttons.

The sleek HTC menu options are replaced with Windows default without these reg settings.

I already had the first setting, it's the second one that changes them I guess.

Thanks
