SMS Messages not showing as read after replying

I've searched and can't figure out any good keywords that will find what I'm looking for.

Basically, my wife and I both have Sprint TP2s. While having a conversation with someone via sms, the received messages don't automatically convert to "read" like they did on my TP1 and on my Mogul.

So if I have a long conversation with my wife, for instance, I end up "collecting" X "unread" messages. The only way to get rid of them is to open up the conversation, then close it X times.

Same problem with the TF3D. I have to flip through to the unread message and stay there for 5 or so seconds for it to register as read. If I don't and just flip past the unread message, it still shows up as being unread.

THIS IS NOT THE SAME as the ghost unread messages or the fixunread.exe issue. There's no discrepancy so to say, just a severe lag and lack of registering that "Hmm, I have the conversation open, do you think I read all of the messages?" Dumb ass software!!!

I am having the same problems with my phone as well. Also i am having a problem with the sent message alert. It does not go away. But i think it has something to do with the 2016 problem. Ever since it was fixed, my messages has been messed up all the way around. But i am just getting on here to see what everyone else is saying about it. this is the first post that i have read

I've searched the issue as well and can't seem to come up with much.

Hoping for some help... If there is an answer out there, maybe someone should add it to a FAQ or something?

Thanks for the linkage. I installed the cabbed file and the problem is "solved". Not sure why tmail.exe crashed, but we'll see if that is a long term problem or just a glitch.
