is there a better alarm clock out there or a tweek for stock??

Yeah, I wish it was better. I need a really annoying alarm because I am a hard sleeper but I have 2 other alarm clocks as back up. I use the Snooze alarm and it does have that pause in between.

G-Alarm is great and does what you're after. You can set it to make you do a maze and/or some math problems before you can turn it off. You can start with a demo from their site here:

If you decide to buy it, you can either buy it direct for $7.50 or so (they're European, so the exchange rate makes it an odd number), or it's slightly cheaper on MarketPlace.

I like RNS Weekup. Works great after I fixed the windows alarm bug. (alarm wouldn't resound after I "snoozed" it b/c my screen went dim (off). The minute I turned the screen back on the alarm would sound. This was same with stock alarm, too.)
