POP3 doesn't do that if you check the box that says keep messages on server.

Thanks guys got it solved. I had to change to some att.yahoo mail servers. I guess bellsouth started using ATT servers and ATT started using yahoo servers for email.

By the way I couldnt even find a place to set the port number on the phone, but it works withouyt it.
