Chef ROM Overhead

I've now used about four ROMs and I've settled on Calkulin's 6.5.3/2.5 ROM (at least for the moment). It's quite stable and I'm loving it but I keep getting "Out of Memory" messages. It starts off with just under 80mb of free memory, but quickly I find myself dropping to 25 or less and soft resetting two to three times per day.

Would you guys mind posting up the amount of free program memory you have after a soft reset with the 6.5.3/Sense 2.5 ROM you are running? Thanks!

Zulu, this may not be exactly what you want to hear, but this is a well-known issue and problem with the 6.5.3/2.5 ROMS. Calk is an incredible chef; the limitations that you are experiencing are inherent with any 2.5 ROM. I've tried various and always go back to 2.1. I'm currently running Mighty ROM and boot clean with 107 MB. I also use CleanRAM consistently and automatically, and this runs flawlessly for me. The biggest memory hog by far seems to be Opera, and CleanRAM cleans up well after this. Hope this helps. . . .

Re: Chef ROM Overhead

Im running my own personally cooked 6.5.x Sense 2.5 ROM and boot with about 55% Ram and am currently at about 60% which is about 72 mb of RAM. It runs stable for me I can normally keep my soft reset to about once or twice a day. I am using the latest leo packages and verizon oem drivers and kernel.

Re: Chef ROM Overhead

My 6.5.5 ROM has 25MB+ free while running Opera 10 with multiple tabs open. At startup, with opera quickstart, MTP, lockdevice, and LumosStarter running there is 80MB free.
