Help setup GPS Navigation please HTC Touch Pro 2 (Sprint)
 

Hi,

Can someone explain or point me in the direction for setting up GPS navigation on my HTC Touch Pro 2 (Sprint)? I'd prefer to not spend any money (Nav n Go iGo8 is like $80!)

I am currently using MalROM v1.5b6 WM6.5.3 + Sense 2.1.

TTS would be sweet.

I tried searching but couldn't find what I needed.

Yeah I think the pay route seems like the way to go. Of course you can try amazegps but I think it sucks.

Sprint Navigation is free, ooooh wait..your using a Cooked ROM...no wonder...Gotta love the people that mess with those ROM's and take out things that should stay but they feel needs to go. See if you can't find a good copy of Sprint Navigation and install it....it's free and comes with the Stock ROM...

If you have Sprint, you should have Sprint Navigation for free. You are using a cooked ROM so it is not included. You can download a .cab and install it on your cooked ROM though. Here is the link to the cab http://www.lilrico.com/Mighty/Rhodiu...202_1_40_0.cab It works for me using MightyROM. I got the link from the MightyROM thread. Check to make sure you get Sprint Navi for free with your plan though. I am not sure which plan you have. If it is not included you will get charged like $10/month.

Thanks, you guys! Looks like I have a couple options. Sweet. :headbang:

I'm still using my SERO account, so I assume unlimited data will work with Sprint Navigation at no extra charge.

P.S. The stock ROM was making me not like the phone. This custom ROM makes it so much better for me. I really like playing with the phone now. Still so much to learn and do with this puppy (This is my first smart/PDA phone.)

SERO does not include free Sprint Navigation. You will have to pay 10$ per month.
