file manager

Does anyone know how to change the file manager location? I would like for it to open another location..right how when I open it, it is the windows folder...takes forever.
Is there a registry entry that I can make to change the startup location..
thanks in advance.

Re: file manager

It automatically opens up to the last folder you viewed.

Re: file manager

I've had this issue myself. If you happen to have been in the windows folder last it can be a major pain. I use Total Commander most of the time if I need to navigate in the windows folder since the default explorer seems pretty poorly written. I'd like to know a solution to this though.

well, it is a pain.. I don't use total commander much..guess I will have to until a fix is out there....
tried searching the registry for file manager, but nothing came up..
since it defaults to your last location opened..there must be a registry entry somewhere..

Re: file manager

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\File Explorer]
"LastLocation"=dword:00000001
"LocalPath"="\\My Documents"
"StorageCardPath"="\\Storage Card"

LocalPath is where it goes when you start File Explorer and the last location was on internal storage somewhere. This is where you would remove where it says \windows\

StorageCardPath is where it goes if the last location was on your StorageCard.

LastLocation tells it which one to use for the last location:
0 = LocalPath
1 = StorageCardPath

Re: file manager

The only weakness of Total Commander is the inability to "Send by email". File Explorer is the only thing that works. Using Attach File in Outlook also takes forever to populate the list, 10 or 20 minutes with as many files as I have. It doesn't let you limit where to look, or the extention, until it first tries to list every file on the whole phone and card.

Re: file manager

Resco File Explorer, GOD OF ALL FILE EXPLORERS, actually lets you choose what folder to start at every time you open it

Re: file manager

Yea, it's annoying how after all these years, Pocket Outlook still has a lousy attachment process, and inability to insert pictures in the e-mail (not as an attachment). Grrr...
