Help a n00b remove password lock

This is my first smartphone/pocket pc so I'm still very green with it. I apologize if this has been answered elsewhere, but I have read threads all day (just dont tell my boss!:-#) with no luck. My problem is I'm trying to remove the password lock that was required when I sync'd my work email acct with the tp2. After a short time I decided I really didn't need to receive email alerts on my phone all day since I'm usually at the computer and decided to delete the acct from the phone. For some reason though, I still cannot uncheck the "prompt if phone unused for" box which is what I believe I need to do. Any help would be appreciated!

Also, my phone has a phantom message in the SMS/MMS Inbox causing the phone to always show it has a new message. The inbox is empty though, is there some way to clear it out and get the little green circle to go away until I actually get a text? Thanks in advance and sorry for the n00bness!:occasion5:

bump for the morning crew. Also wanted to add that this is my personal phone and not a company one, in case anybody thought I was trying to get around the company rules. :thumbleft:

from what i'm reading, that will be fixed along with the 6.5 upgrade. i don't have an eta on when, but t-mobile and verizon got theirs yesterday. i'm waiting on sprint.

I'm already running 6.5 with US Cellular I believe. Does that mean I'm screwed? :(

there may be a software patch coming your way, i know the 6.5 upgrade addressed that problem. you might want to keep an eye on uscc' website or htc for it.

Wouldn't a hard reset and not setting up your work email do it?

probably, but I was trying to avoid that, as I would lose all contact info, pics etc. correct?
