Sprite Backup problems

I use both Sprite & SPB Backup & like some features of both plus I like having redundant backups.

Recently, I started having major problems with Sprite & SPB keeps working perfectly.

When I run Sprite, the BU completes all the way to the end but then errors saying "unable to BU system files" (or something like that) & exits saying the BU was unsuccessful.

I thought I was running an odd ROM setup or something & didn't really worry about it as SPB was both backing up & restoring the system perfectly.

I recently re-flashed to NRG Dusk so everything was starting new & I installed both Sprite & SPB. I was amazed when I ran both & had the exact same problem again with Sprite even running a brand new ROM (& once again, SPB worked perfectly)

Does anybody have a clue what's going on here??

Re: Sprite Backup problems

Have you asked this question at the Sprite forums on Spritesoftware.com?

I have tried that forum in the past & never really had much luck with it.

As long as SPB Backup keeps working fine (like it always has) it's not that big a deal, but I figure someone here will probably know the answer as a lot of posters swear by Sprite.

LOL, I just checked that forum out of curiousity & found a thread with 18 posters in a row with the exact same problem & nobody had a solution for them.

I guess I'll just stick with SPB as that works perfectly & I need a BU app I can depend on 100%.

Re: Sprite Backup problems

SPB has generally had less issues over the years, from my experience. And ditto about PIM backup, that is so deficient compared to the other 2, it's not even in the same category of software
