Re: Fix/Workaround for 2016 Issue

its interesting how confused our providers are when we try to alert them of the issue, their unwillingness to fix it also shows that they're in it for the $$$ and not customer satisfaction. desgraciados!

Easiest thing to do is copy the cab file, from the first post, onto you SD card then run the cab. I had it "Install to Device" not sure which is the best route.

On another note, I can confirm that this fix works on my phone (Sprint TP2). It worked on both the stock ROM straight out of the box (2 days old) and the version of MightyROM released on 12/30/09. Tested it several times over in both instances.

Re: Fix/Workaround for 2016 Issue

Being that I did not want to install this workaround on my TP2 I called sprint tech support and went into a service center to speak with a technician. I was told the same thing by both that this is a national network issue and that they are working to fix the problem. They said the only thing I needed to do was to turn my phone off for a few minutes each night and turn it back on,the network will correct itself. They also said if you don't turn your phone off and turn it back on there is a good chance you won't recieve the update...kinda like when daylight savings time changes and if you don't reset your phone the clock dosn't display the proper time....hope this helps

The Sprint CSR I spoke with said she had a TON of phone calls about this issue today (they were closed yesterday when it began), and they have people working on the issue (no estimate on how long it will take to fix). I'm guessing not much will get done until the experts get back from the holidays. I understand the quality of CSR varies widely so you just had a less-informed one.

Re: Fix/Workaround for 2016 Issue

Ok so I installed the can and all incoming messages now only show the month and day in the time stamp. all previous text messages still display 2016. And now all incoming message do not preview in the messages tab in manilla. Anyone else getting this?

Im using the EnergyROM pheonix 2.1 manilla rom 21885 build.

Re: Fix/Workaround for 2016 Issue

Applied the fix cab on my TP2 today. Works fine and will do for now until a more permanent solution develops.

Thanks!

I had the same issue. I just deleted the texts from 2016 and the current ones now show up in TF3D.
