WiFi shut off after restart when in Sync?

Hello all.

Basically I am not using the Verizon 3G network for my data so I have shut if off via the Reg, and am looking to keep my WiFi on full time.

I have also done a reg hack for that so that is stays on even in standby so that I can get e-mails and stuff.

So far all is well but I have noticed that if I have the TP2 connected via the USB link, IE connected to my PC with Active Sync running and I restart the TP2 whiel connected like this and then unplug the USB connector, for some reason my WiFi has been shut off and all I see is the 3G symbol.

I then go into Settings and then Communications, and there I find it switched off and then have to switch it back on again and then all is fine.

So is this normal?

Or does anyone think this may be as a result of the reg hacking I have done as that is not what happens for you?

Right click on activesync icon next to clock and select connection settings. then check mark allow wireless connections. Just curious but why would you not use the data connection. Wifi drains the battery much more

So this was switching off the WiFi upon the restart huh?

Yes when activesync started it turned it off

Nice I will have to give this a try.

But just to mention it and to clarify, if I left the TP2 on and then disconnected it, the WiFi would come back automatically.

Its funny as I might see that 3G symbol for a second or two but it always came back to the WiFi.

It was only if I did a restart of the TP2 whiel it was Sync'ed and then unplugged it that it would do this.
