Backing up protocol between flashing...

I'm fairly new to PPCs and flashing ROMs.

I use SPB backup to do full backups so that I can go back to my previous settings if I'm switching between ROMs.

However, what's the best way to save your settings when switching to a new ROM?

I've worked out how to save my RSS hub data, and I use Google to sync my Contacts, Calender, and Email.

But what about SMS, Contact favorites, internet favorites, Google maps favorites, etc?

What do you guys/girls use when switching to a new ROM?

PS: What exactly is PIM data that people talk about?

PIM data is a file that stores all your contacts' information. Backing up the PIM is crucial before flashing, otherwise you will lose all your cantacts. Using Google to sync your contacts is essentially doing this step for you

Unzip this to your storage card. I made a folder and put it in there and also I put the backup file in there as well.

So if I've got the exchange server going, I don't need to backup PIM.

What do you use to backup the other things I mentioned...text messages and favorites, etc?

yeah i tired of reseting up all my sites in opera!!

For Opera just very simple to copy and paste the Opera6.adr file (i believe it's ADR)

Does SPB backup work for text messages if you are changing ROMS with different manila versions (2.1 to 2.5)?
