Re: swapping push pages with bookmarks
Another vote for this. The whole push service is almost completely useless anyways. It's not even supported in 9.7 or 10 iirc.

Re: swapping push pages with bookmarks
If you just turn off the push feature, those links on TF3D become regular bookmarks. I'm running a custom ROM now though so I don't remember where that option is.

Re: swapping push pages with bookmarks
go to the internet tab in tf3d and then settings and then something in there. its pretty easy to find if your just looking for it. also there is a cab out there to completly remove it.

Re: swapping push pages with bookmarks
I actually somewhat prefered having push there but turned off, as opposed to Mighty which has it removed completely. The reason being that with it there but off, you can define anything you want as the bookmarks that show up right on the TF3D tab. But with it removed completely, it just shows the bookmarks you have at the root level in Opera. Since I like to keep my bookmarks in folders, that means I have to duplicate anything I want in TF3D in the root of my bookmarks.
Also, push installed but disabled from within TF3D keeps the feature where Opera never really closes but is always pre-loaded and comes up instantly. Even if you close it explicitly, it'd clear out what you had open but stay running in the background, ready to go. Some people really didn't like that because it took up more memory, but I use Opera enough that I somewhat liked that feature. I'm sure there's a cab or something to re-enable it on Mighty, but I haven't bothered to look. Neither issue are really any big deal to me, just things I liked slightly better on stock. So go with whatever works for you! |

Re: swapping push pages with bookmarks
Quote:
Verizon's newest 6.5 rom. Using total commander, get to registry of internet tab push pages: [\\\registry\HKLM\SOFTWARE\HTC\Manila\InternetPush\ Enabled\] in there you will see 4 folders in order named 000 thru 003. get into 003, you see 5 entries (technically the 1st one is a default add value that shows up even in empty dirs) then edit the Name entry and the URL entry to blank, this will reset them bookmarks/push pages to empty (like it was before you started trying to make them be something, and munged them). Hope that helps others. |
