TomTom Nav 7 available in US?

Is TT Nav7 available for purchase in the US? It's not on tomtom.com and the only place I can find it is on a UK website.

YES! Sorta... I got my first version of tom tom as a cab ripped from the diamond, over in the vouge forums, maybe its still available? Also maybe try a search for tomtom cab... hope it helps!!!

North America and US Maps are your prob, but are available... may your GOOGLE foo be strong...

My understanding is that there is no legal way to have TomTom 7 on a US device. They don't sell it that way. It is available in Europe, and is also embedded in the ROMs of some devices sold overseas. My understanding is that it's not included on any US carrier's ROMs.

The irony? I read an article quoting someone saying they weren't going to sell it here because piracy is so high. Now that they've stopped selling it, more people are probably now looking into piracy that might have otherwise bought it.

Note that I'm not advocating this at all. I'm not using TomTom anymore, since they've clearly abandoned the US market. There are other solutions out there, like Garmin, but I did enjoy TomTom back in the day.

Your 2 options are Garmin or IG08

Garmin has a little lag

IG08 no lag works flawlessly But i prefer Garmin I am biased towards Garmin

Wish Garmin was like Igo8 with no lag and TTS then Garmin would rock...

does copilot work with TP2 sprint?. Heard some might corrupt the BT stack. Wants to confirm on this before I place the order

I use TomTom 7 on my TP2 just fine. I got on CAB and it is a version created specifically for the Touch Pro 2, or at least WVGA screens. PM me and I can send it to you, or I can post it here. I dunno if it's considered warez or not

i've always felt it wasn't warez because certain phones do come with the software preloaded. as was mentioned before. the maps are the issue.

i think there have been arguments both ways for tomtom. i've seen it posted at xda i think. not sure i've seen it posted here tho. but nonetheless, it's easy enough to find for sure.

I'll take that PM unless the version you are talking about is 7.916.9189. I have already tried that and while doing 60mph it is about .4-.5 miles slow, close to 30 seconds I guess.
