Re: Can't Active Sync - Need Help!!!
Update, still no joy:
I used the original Outlook 2007 CD to do a "repair" to my installation. I uninstalled WMDC, rebooted, reinstalled. Reconnected the TP2, drivers were successfully loaded, WMDC fired up, connected with the device, but when trying to sync, it failed with the same error message. When I check within WMDC, I find these error messages: Sync Error Notes: attention required Sync Failed Sync failed One said "Active Sync Encountered a Problem on the Desktop" Windows Explorer shows both the device and storage card, and I can read/write from them, so Windows is seeing the device just fine. It seems that WMDC is having the problem. Could it be my TP2? Something funky in the Hardset/Restore using SPB Backup? This is a major problem, and I hope somebody here can provide some insight or suggestions. |

Re: Can't Active Sync - Need Help!!!
this might be some help to you, i noticed that my tp2 sync's with my vista no problem but to my xp machine's (and it just started doing this too) it would not connect. (i understand that u are running vista but it might be something to do with the 64 bit system) there is an option to turn off (faster transfer?) in the settings for sync-ing on the tp2 maybe check that out n see if that works for you., goto (on the pda) settings connections usb2pc and UN check the box under activesync and give that a try.
hope this helps. |

Re: Can't Active Sync - Need Help!!!
Thanks for the reply - in my searching for solutions, I came across that, and have tried it both with and without that "faster" checkbox checked, but same result.
Still searching...Seems like quite a few have had this issue in the past... |

Wirelessly posted (XV6875 Opera/9.50 (Windows NT 5.1; U; en))
Well after 10 hours and innumerable wild goose chases and reboots and phone restores, I think I've fixed it. It looks like there were some duplicate Notes (I don't know how they got duplicated) and this is what was srewing things up. I fixed this, it synced once successfully, and then it screwed up again!!! This time I found some Contact duplicates, eliminated those, and it synced correctly again. I'm almost scared to try again. All stinking day spent fixing this!!! |
