Backlight adjust option gone

I seem to have lost my slider bar for screen backlight adjustments. It has vanished. Happened when I installed spb tv. I have had this app on wm6.5 roms before. My question is: Is there a way to get this light control back obviously would be nice. How would I find this file? It must be buried in the windows file or someplace. Must be somefile someplace that controls the function.
It is in effect at the lowest setting, when I tic the auto box, that brings it up a little, but not enough. I prefer to have it at max so I'm currently really straining to see it. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I will hard reset if I cannot resolve this. My device is really tricked out nice currently and I have it running great except for this snafu. I'd hate to have to resort to HR. I've off loaded the app, deleted it's file and soft reset several times to no avail. I'm running mighty's latest rom. It would take hours/days to get this back to normal after a HR. Any hope?
