Tether Touch Pro 2 and Windows 7 (64bit)

I am trying to tether my Sprint Touch Pro 2 and Windows 7 (64 bit). My phone has the hack and works fine on my works Vista (32 bit) desktop, but I can not seem to get it to work on my Windows 7 (64 bit) home pc. What I normally do is start the shared internet connection program on my TP2, press "Connect", connect the USB cable and Wammo...I'm on the internet, but for Windows 7...it won't work. Please help.

Thank you.

I dont know what windows 7 has as its version of active sync or mobile device center but find it and uncheck; allow usb connections. it may be killing the connection

Why dont you use HTC wifi share? That should work regardless of the computer.

I have the same exact problem! I use the WMWifirouter program, but it dreains the battery. I would rather connect by USB.

Re: Tether Touch Pro 2 and Windows 7 (64bit)

I just tried and am posting this via my TP2 tethered on Win7 64-bit Ultimate. Had no problems, I was getting error 67 but I just initiated a data connection first and then used the Internet Sharing in start menu, changed connection to Sprint and works just fine. I am on stock Sprint ROM and only Internet sharing tweak I made when I got the phone was to install the cab from the tweaks and tips thread.

Re: Tether Touch Pro 2 and Windows 7 (64bit)

i have ran of vista ultimate x64 and 7 x64 without any troubles what so ever. make sure that your firewall isnt blocking the connection as well as your virus scan. i use avg premium and love it. (they have a great free version as well) if that still doesnt work for you try this.

connect your device to your computer via usb
choose activesync
let that open
unlug and reconnect
try to tether this time
see what that does for you and post any errors that you have

also you do have the x64 bit version of mobile device center correct?

Re: Tether Touch Pro 2 and Windows 7 (64bit)

It still is not working. Whether I start an internet connection first or not, it will not get me on the internet. On the task bar, it says it is connected, when I open Networking and Sharing Center and check its connection status it says:
IPv4 Connectivity: Internet
IPv6 Connectivity: No network access
Media State: Enabled

Yet still not internet. I am using the tether hack and it works fine on my Vista 32 bit computer. I have my McAfee Firewall & Anitvirus turned off on my Windows 7 pc as well.
