Verizon 6800 Won't Boot

I have a 6800 from Verizon. When booting, it displays an error message: "The file 'palringo' cannot open..... blah blah blah... If the problem persists, tryin reinstalling or restoring this file." After that, it will not allow me to go any further, nor will it allow me to hit the "ok" button to continue. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this????????

Re: Verizon 6800 Won't Boot

I hate to sound stupid, but I tried that, but my computer didn't recognize my phone. I've never tried to access any info on my phone through my computer..... do I need certain drivers or other program to access my phone through my phone????

Re: Verizon 6800 Won't Boot

For an XP machine you need ActivSync. For Vista it is Windows Mobile Device Center. Go here for more info and downloads. Good luck.

Re: Verizon 6800 Won't Boot

Loaded activesync on my pc, but it won't connect. I assume b/c the phone won't boot. It boots for about 3-5 seconds and then locks with the message previously mentioned. There is an "ok" button on the box, but it is not active and will not go any farther. I hate to do a hard reset as I'll loose everything on my phone.......

HELP!!!!!!!!!

Re: Verizon 6800 Won't Boot

That is my guess to do a hard reset.
