The problem with tethering via bluetooth is that bluetooth's maximum asymetrical throughput is ~721/58KBps. That's below what many EVDO users get.
But for Macs...you don't really have a choice. That is unless June Fabrics comes out with Mac version of PDAnet.... Here's some tests: Bluetooth tethered USB Tethered As you can see, bluetooth is much slower for tethering.

Oh...looks like bluetooth tethering is symmetrical...so the maximum up and down is around 432KBps to 486KBps. USB2 is 400MB/s....

Yeah the bluetooth connection speed is slow, but I only use it in a pinch. I sometimes use USBModem when I want faster speeds and I have the USB cable with me. Otherwise, the bluetooth is very slow, but bearable.
And no drivers are nessecary. I'm at work as well, so I'll find the link for the USBModem when I go for lunch (In about half an hour) but they both work like a charm! (Also, I am a long time lurker and just a first time poster so :P) |

Something you might try is search the forum for the registry hacks to allow you to use the phone as a modem. If you have done that, just PM the specs on your Mac and a list of progs on your Mogul and I'll take a look at it. |
