I use Mobile Shell and HTC Home. I just have the Mobile Shell tabs above HTC Home and I don't use the Mobile Shell 'Now' screen. Seems to work fine and I usually have 19-20MB free RAM.

I use Shell, HTC Home, Pocket Plus, and Suite. I have Pocket Plus and Suite embedded in my Shell, and HTC home above both, it's awesome but kills your memory.

I use to use Shell, Suite and then discovered just how much RAM they use and how slow they are. Typical with Spb's apps. I run only the HTC Home now. VERY small RAM footprint and hasn't slowed down my phone at all.

HTC Home is much more resource friendly than any of the SPB products. Plus you can download HTC Home for free.

my phone barely moves when i have the HTC home plugin installed.. ill type 10-15 words before the letters start to appear on the screen.. im just going to leave it alone (once my replacement gets here (#3: 1 had faulty video, 2 has fault backlight)) and hold off until custom roms are figured out.

I have both installed but only use one at a time. I actually get better usage out of MS. what I do is use the MS plugin and disable the rest of MS from starting using memmaid.

I dont think it is a really fair comparison MS vs HTC Home as home is JUST a today plugin ad nothing else (although a very functional one). But MS has a today plugin (embed other today plugins into it) which has all the element of the HTC version as well as a much better finger friendly nav for your device.

using MS, but disabling the SPBMobileshell.exe using memmaid actually uses less RAM tha the HTC plugin on my device.

When you disable SPBMobileShell.exe what exactly does that stop?

It stops everything except the today plugin. before doing that I would revert the softkey buttons back to the standard contacts/calendar. If you dont and select, lets say spb menu, spbmobileshell.exe will start again.

it saves me approx 2 MB of RAM.

by the way - if you have the home plugin enabled as one of your tabs, the shortcuts may not show up. what I did was install the REsco today plugin and use that as my home tab as it has the ability to have program shortcuts as well as meters.

I am wondering if HTC Home plugin will remind me of any miss call, text msgs, voice mail, etc, like Spb Home suite does?

Thanks!
