Htc(non-official) Startup screen
 

Well after messing with this a bit I am done I think hehe not my current animated startup image... but either way thought I would share..

Place image in windows dir

Gota edit registry
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\StartupAnimation]

edit GIFFile value string to what ever you named the startup animation file above.. save and reboot

Thanks to col for your help :D on registry setting.

edit: tried to add the attachment for some reason it keeps site keeps converting it to jpeg, think it has something to do with file size limit. You can right click on image and save as, like 4door said.

Edit: So cut down animation its about half the size now.. I will leave original one as well.. 6800b is what I added.

the reg tweak wont stay for me... it redoes itself after a reboot and just stays sprint... btw ill post a better compressed version of it soon, cause the sprint startup screen is 32k and this is .99meg...

would a shorter gif lead to faster boots? can i just deactivate the boot screen all together?

As far as the reg tweek not sticking I have no idea..I used resco reg editor. just tried some other gifs.. and work fine.

Is there a way to cut out the sprint > htc > windows boot images down to just one? boot up on the Mogul is killer compared to 6700 :(

ok i got it to work... but is there a way to make it do whatever it needs to boot faster?
it would be awesome if there was like a verbose output mode, to see it booting or whatever...
cause is the phone take that long to boot or does it take that long because it has set periods of time to show each image?

disable the animated gif and I would assume that it would boot much faster. It should just skip that part.
