Spam Blocker for HTC Mogul?
I am getting killed with spam coming in on my HTC Mogul running win mobile 6 pro. My ISP does not block spam only my laptop blocks spam so I am ok when using my laptop but I am righteously screwed when I open my email on my Mogul. I have talked to just anybody who is anybody at Sprint (my wireless carrier) Tech service including the upper end Tech service people and it is all Deer in the headlights stuff. I spoke with the Tech guys at a Sprint corporate store whose best answer was to post a query to this sight.
Sooooooooo does anyone know where I can get a spam blocker for my HTC Mogul? Thanks Tom |

good luck man....what isp is it? bellsouth.net?

well here is my best solution. forward you emails to a gmail account, let gmail filter it and then from the mogul check the filtered gmail box.

Thank you
Thank you for the thoughtful and very creative response. It is a shame we have to go through this. I cannot help but think I see a business opportunity here? Do you have any idea where I can find someone to write a spam filter progam I can market?
Thanks again Tom |
Here is a place that advertises a spam filter http://www.pocketpcsoft.com/. Beyond that though I don't know if there are many other. I am vb .net programmer, but haver done any programming for the Pocket PC platform. Something I would like to start. First though I don't know what kind of programs people would like, what area is being missed. This might be something I might look at later.

I've tried that program, its pretty good but I noticed it took up a little bit more RAM than I'd like to constantly filter your incoming emails. It does work though, I can say that. I havent used it on the mogul though, not sure with WM6 and the new office apps if it would work, it doesn't say WM6 compatible, or Exchange 2007 certified.

spam blocking
What type of email account is it? Hotmail, yahoo, etc..? Or is it a regular pop3 or imap account?

Re: Spam Blocker for HTC Mogul?
is there a way to do this for text messages for free - in particular sprint picture mail - always from an "Unknown Sender"
is magicall the only pay solution? |
Re: Spam Blocker for HTC Mogul?
I agree with having the mail forwarded or POP3'ed to a web base email that will filter. What ISP are you using because I know ATT/BellSouth filter.
Then again, I have 3 email addys I use all the time. One is my personal email that only get given to people I know. The second is my business/professional email that I do for resumes and companies and the 3rd I give out anytime I sign up for something and or website because most of the time they are going to spam. With that being said I do not have any spam in my first two but that last acct gets plenty of spam. |
