Well, then, that must be great comfort to the people over on the XDA forum who have burned out their LEDs using the flash as a flashlight.

Well could you post a link to Some of these people/threads, I found a couple but they were pretty old posts and the ones I saw seemed to be from the Universal, we hopefully have a better newwer led.

With the camera there are 2 levels, normal lighting and extra bright during the actual picture capture.

If you can enable the normal level with the camera and if it stays on as long as you keep the camera is on, I would think it shouldn't burn out even if it's on for a very long time as you can have the camera/flash on for lonnnnng times, of course if your talking about when the flash gets extra bright for the actual picture I could see that causing a problem being left on.
