What's the Difference Between Opera Mini and Mobile?
I see that Mini is free and Mobile isn't...and Mini seems to have iPhone browser-type capabilities (well, at least the new beta)...
So why shouldn't I just get Mini? Am I missing something? Please help, anyone. Thanks. |
Well I have them both, Mini is free because it's a beta and the Opera regular V8.65 is a test version too and is free until Oct also.
They are completely different browsers ones a Java app and the other isn't. I'm on my mogul waiting for my GF right now and don't have a lot of time so I can't really list all of the differences right now. I always use the V8.65 as my main browser, it's great it renders pages really good and accurate and makes surfing a much easier and better experience. Plus it supports multiple open windows really well too. Simple answer....Get them both and see. |
Thanks for your feedback, I appreciate it.

Opera Mobile is a native Windows Mobile application while Opera Mini is a java application that needs the java runtime to load. Opera Mini is more universal while Mobile is designed specifically for the WM OS.
There are other differences and I don't use them both, so I can't go into detail. |
I tried Mobile, and I hated it. It's just as slow as PIE (for me), and it's nothing really special. I love the mini version. It's really friggin fast. :)

Opera Mini Beta rocks on my Mogul. Really fast and easy. You must have JVM to run Mini.

Is there a way to set up Opera Mini so that it starts directly from the phone menu, rather than having to start Java first?
