Screen issues, need to fix it just for the interm
In the last week, two issues have popped up with my screen that are entirely frustrating. I'm looking at getting a Touch Pro 2, but Telus has delayed it's launch indefinitely so I'm wondering if anyone has come across these issues before and been able to fix them:
On opening the screen, it won't flip if the screen is entirely out. If I slide the screen back about a quarter of the way, it will flip. With the screen entirely out, the screen won't update at all, but will still take (landscape) input. Now today, if my screen is off (side button) and someone texts me, the backlight will turn on, but nothing is displayed, and the call and hang up buttons are not lit. I don't expect it to be more then a week or two till the tp2 comes out, but this is rather frustrating. |

Sounds like cabling issue. You could try taking it apart and make sure the cables are connected and in good condition.

Re: Screen issues, need to fix it just for the interm
Update:
Opened it up, just under the mainboard I slide the keyboard open and could see the issue right away: The top of the largest cable connecting the mainboard to the screen is completely cracked through. I could get a replacement cable, but they seem to run around $100 from various places (cellphonedr specifically). So as I can't use it fully open, nor can I turn the screen off without it never coming back, here is my next question: Does anyone have a cab to disable the power button entirely? I can run it on no-backlight locked for at least as long as I need to use it till the tp2 is launched, so It would be a most helpful cab. |

As long as I leave it closed, I got the screen to come back to life (it will happily turn on and off)
Thanks for the help, now just the waiting game for the tp2 |
