Re: *228 doesnt work, post with answers not available

Just confirmed its 2.00_003

It is a Verizon phone. I do find it VERY weird that using the PRL from these boards works fine, but using the PRL from **228 puts it into roaming.

Re: *228 doesnt work, post with answers not available

If you want to truly fix the issue then you need to downgrade the phone to completely remove the sprint customization that are still in there somewhere. http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=21161
Then reflash custom rom.

Like he said.
It's your best solution, in my opinion.

I agree. My solution was more of a band-aid and did not address the root of the issue.

Re: *228 doesnt work, post with answers not available

ok so tonight, I did the following:
1. loaded the stock verizon setup.
2. I let the customizations run
3. I did a 228 option 1, let it reboot
4. I did a 228 optino 2, let it reboot
At this point it has great signal, and says Verizon Wireless on it, no roaming, everything looks like i just got it from verizon.

1. loaded olipro
2. loaded btonetbone image
3. realized i did it in the wrong order and that olipro didn't take for some reason
4. re-installed the verizon rom
5. installed olipro again
6. installed the .50 radio
7. installed btonetbone's rom version 7b.
8. I see I am on Preferred System all of the sudden, so i do a 228 option 1 and reboot
9. do a 228 option 2 and reboot
10. double checked, yes the 000000 code is correct (228 would not have worked right if it wasnt)
10b. Installed DCD's verizon carrior package
11. I am still on roaming/preferred system, and still cool, not frustrated
12. I load PRL 51425, reboot
13. It now shows 'vzw' instead of preferred system, and no more roaming...

So i guess 228 option 2 works, but then seems to go a lil funky. I would assume i'm not on roaming, but kinda confused how that way is messy, but the 51425 works right.

THanks for everyone's help so far... Although this seems to not be a unique issue, it persists more than others

Re: *228 doesnt work, post with answers not available

Interestingly enough both 51433, and 51495 give me the "Preferred System" and roaming, while 51425m says vzw and no roaming.
