No Service, No Nothing??

Ok, here's the deal.

This is my first ppc phone (Mogul) so I don't know if this is how it works with all of them...

The service on my phone was restriced because I added a new line and the first bill situation was a mess.

Point being, while it was restricted I could not access my calendar, contacts, and I could not bring up the phone part in anyway.

You know how on regular phones you could attempt to dial a number and it would just connect you to sprint....well there is no way for me to do that, so if I were somewhere with no other phone...i'd be screwed.

Also, I could send/receive text messages only if I knew the number by heart because, as I said before, I had no way to even look at my contacts.

So I guess my question would be...is this normal for ppc phones, or is it this one in particular?

Edit* Mis read question.

I've never had my service turned off with the Mogul, but I have with the Apache and that took me to the sprint rep ( same if you press *3 )

First we need you to clarify. What do you mean restricted, and no calendar, contacts? Once the battery is charged there is no way to restrict this part of the Mogul I know of. Give us your whole story and how things got this way because if I am understanding you correctly something is wrong your Mogul shouldn't behave this way weather you are connected to Sprint or not.

ok ppc phones work normal EVEn if the phone account is restricted/cancelled/never activated

there is two parts to this phone...communications and pda

communications being txt msg, phone, EV-DO, bt, wi-fi
if your account is restricted, you cant use txt msg, phone, or EVDO
BUT...u can still use bt, wi-fi etc

and as far as the pda functiobns go...contacts n etc...they are not limited no matter what

i dont entirely understand what you are trying to say...i'd recommend you backup all ur stuff using activesync (contacts/calander etc) and your files via my computer and then do a hard reset

Hard Reset: Hold both Softkeys and hit the soft reset button on the bottom

That's what I was thinking...

Well I went over my spending limit and usually when that happens they restrict certain things...

In the past I would not be able to make calls or receive them but it wouldn't really affect much else on my phone..aside from calls and internet.

This time next to the antenna symbol on the screen it has a small circle with a line through it and says no service when I tap it.

when I try to open the calendar nothing happens, same with contacts, and when I try to access the phone. it won't bring up the key pad. I have tried dialing through the keyboard but it does nothing at all.

I go to the running programs to see if it opens and I can't see it or something, but there's nothing there.

I don't think that they can restrict that if you go over your bill. If so, my Apache's PPC functions shouldn't work since I do not have the phone activated since I activated my Mogul.

You might need a hard reset. Please be aware that you will lose all installed programs and contact/appointment information that you have on the device. If you have the PIM data (contacts/appointments) backed up via ActiveSync, then you have no worries of losing the data.
