Okay to buy mogul for Verizon?

I am a current user of a 6700 on the Verizon network and have never paid for a data plan (I'm always around wifi).

I am well aware that only the phones made after the cutoff date are subject to a mandatory data plan.
But, I just want to make sure before I purchase a used Mogul that I can activate it on my plan and still use the PayPerKb plan.

The only reason I'm asking this is because I read somewhere (probably not a credible source) BUT if you haven't previously had the phone activated on your account before the cutoff date of November **, then you would have to add the new mandatory data plan.

I'm pretty sure I've already answered my questions in my own post, but I'm just wanting to make sure all my bases are covered before I say goodbye to my apache for good.

Thanks for all the help everybody

Re: Okay to buy mogul for Verizon?

Thank you so much. I didn't know if the mandatory data ruling did anything.

Looks like I'll be picking up a Mogul real soon.

Don't worry about it. You can activate the Mogul without a data plan. You only are required to get a data plan on devices introduced after 11-08, activation date has othing to do with it.
