Help!!

Rec'd 6800. With help of a couple others' replys, I've successfully done the following.

Upgraded and unlocked using the OliPro 2.40 (bootloader screen confirmed)

Then went to upgrade radio (problem)

Since I do not yet have an SD card, I elected to use the 3.35 and install from the USB cable route.

Installer said that ROM / radio was updated, but when device rebooted, the phone is now stuck on the Alltel splash screen.

Loader screen reads the following:

M 09
H3BB004D5

P DCAAXAM-4350
R 3.35.04
D 2.14

What do I do now?

If I can't get it to start up, I can't establish an ActiveSync link to flash, right?

Is one option, getting and loading the 3.42 onto an SD card, then proceeding to load it through the bootloader screen?
What is my option if I don't have an SD card and only the USB cable?

Re: Help!!

You are ok. If you already have the RUU (Rom Update Utility) and the ROM you want to flash, then just put your phone into the bootloader(Tri-Color Screen). Connect the USB. At the bottom of your screen it should then say USB. Run the RUU and it will flash your new ROM.

Will try. You may have to direct me to an RUU. I'm not sure if I have one or not.

Please point me to an RUU I can use.

Thanks

This place has all the information you need:

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=33857

Now step me through what you've done.

1. You unlocked your phone using Olipro (2.40 I assume).
2. Now you say you updated your ROM/Radio? What did you use to do that?
-Some Roms include a radio update. Some do not.
-If you only updated your radio, now you need to flash a ROM.

Which ROM/Radio did you upgrade with? Where did you get it, and what steps did you do to install it?

1. I attempted to update radio to 3.35 using USB because I don't have and SD card yet - upon reboot, screen displayed new radio 3.35, but hung on Alltel screen, even after reseting.

2. While searching the Internet for an RUU, I ended up at the HTC support site and downloaded / installed the following:

HTC PPC6800 WM6.1 / LBS Update - Version 3.52.671.9
The device installed Windows Mobile, rebooted, etc. (I wanted WM6.1 anyway, and I don't think my device had it installed when I received it)

Now, upon reboot, the device displays the following:

M09
B03

P DCAAXAM-4350H
R 3.42.50
D 3.52

The device boots completely into Windows without any problem.

I haven't activated the phone with Alltel yet.

Now, I assume that the radio is updated.

Is the ROM of 3.52 okay, or should I have something else?

What else do I need to do except call Alltel and switch my number to this phone?

It sounds like you are good to go. If it is doing what you want it to do, then activate it and have fun. I am glad that your phone is alive again.

Yup, you got your new rom, radio and are set. Just wait til you get the nerve to try one of the custom roms. You will be amazed by the stuff thats out there. I am currently using an SSK rom made by Scott Rosler. They fit the bill for my gimped VZW touch pro.

Thanks.

Called, activated. Now I can get to tweaking.

Is that ROM from HTC 3.52 with WM6.1 okay? Should I leave it as is?

With the 3.42 radio and the 3.52 ROM WM6.1, I should have GPS, WiFi, etc?

If I change ROMs, will I lose WM6.1?

Re: Help!!

It depends on which rom you flash. I have WM6.5 on mine. But yes, the rom is what has Windows Mobile in it. New rom means new version of WM. WM6.5 has great touch screen ability. Flips through lists and web pages easy with the finger.
