Re: Stuck in soft-reset loop. Help Please.

Why do you cringe at getting it replaced. If you have insurance it will be free.

Re: Stuck in soft-reset loop. Help Please.

If you do option 3, here are the resources needed:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=32382

This is where it all started for me. I read through it all first so that I knew what I was getting in to from start to finish. I downloaded all the tools needed and did it. If it is half as scary for you as it was for me to flash a custom rom, then you need a hug right about now. Good Luck.

Re: Stuck in soft-reset loop. Help Please.

Thank you, I will look through it and give it a shot. I figure the phone is boned anyway, and I lost all my contacts already, so I am fearless in tinkering with it, haha.

@drewcam888 - The last time I brought it in, they took a week to "diagnose" that it wasn't repairable and mailed me a new phone. Neither would they give me a temp replacement because they said it would be a "speedy" process. If none of the rest work, I will bring it in, as a last resort.

Re: Stuck in soft-reset loop. Help Please.

Oh thanks. I was planning to tough it out for a month or two for the Touch2, but it seems to be a much bigger problem then i can possibly endure.

Re: Stuck in soft-reset loop. Help Please.

Apparently it's a 100$ deductible to replace my phone, and they are unable to "downgrade" and give me one of those free cheap phones they just give away when people sign contracts.

I brought the phone to the sprint store, the tech HARD RESET IT, then say's he can do nothing more and I need to file an insurance claim due to me having dropped it. I totally flabbergasted, what exactly am I paying extra per month for insurance for? Seems like it's time for a new carrier. Thanks for everyone's help here.

Re: Stuck in soft-reset loop. Help Please.

I did tell him I dropped it months ago, but the soft reset problem started recently. I don't see how it would affect the software. The little plastic piece that is a "quick key" for IE and something else came off when the drop occurred. He is stating he can not repair it due to this, although he gladly did a hard reset on my phone.
