Car Charger

I've searched and can't find much on this. What car chargers are everyone using for their PPC 6800s? There doesn't even seem to be an OEM charger available. I know a lot of miniUSB chargers might "work" for it, but I want one that is right for it.

I can't find many that list proper specifications, let alone one that is 5V 1A. I might be going on a road trip this weekend, so I'm running out of time for online orders, but I don't want to pay twice what one is worth. Thanks for any suggestions!

I grabbed a RAZR one from Target for like $12 with a Lifetime warranty. I also grabbed a snazzy little phone holder that hooks on vents or sticks to the dash for like $8. That thing is ingly useful!

I'm using the car adapter meant for the Nintendo DS. It came with a slick carrying case and the USB adapter for like $11 shipped (via eBay). The fantastic thing about this particular one is that the part that plugs into the cigarette lighter just has a normal USB slot and is not hard wired to the cable.

i.e. if I wanted to charge something that uses just regular USB (iPod) to charge with all I have to do is swap from my USB->Mini USB cable (used to charge the Mogul) to the cable supplied with my other regular USB based device. IMO, it is an ideal setup - cheap, flexible and gets the job done! I would probably have paid more for this type of car adapter than just a regular mini usb->car that's all one piece just for the flexibility alone.

I bought this car charger at wirelessground.com. It is an OEM product. It was $19.95. Here's the link:

They have other Mogul accessories too. I found this company to have the best prices as I looked at a lot of sites. Placed the order online but I also talked with customer service. The rep. was very accommodating and quick to help me make a change with my order before it was sent out.

Is it the Just Wireless brand? Does it have the specs listed anywhere? Is it 5V 1A? Thanks

The charger doesn't have any specs on it other than a tag that states HTC. Since it is an OEM product, I figure it should work fine. You think there might be a problem using it? You might want to call wirelessground at 877-764-2460 for more info.

Spend a little more and use an inverter?

I always use an inverter and the ac charger. I get cleaner power and more intelligent charging. I don't know if anything has changed, but the 12v chargers used to burn up my batteries and really shorten their life.
