GPS Help???

Hey All, read the forums extensively and could not find what I need. I have 2 XV6800 phones with everything the same, DCD 3.3.4 w/ 3.42.40 radio. My phone works awesome, I prime with Holux and use Odyssey Mobile nav software. My wifes phone on the other hand is a problem. I try to prime with Holux or even HTC GPS and both show some sort of data flow but never lock. Both priming tools stay red. I looked in fieldtrial under GPS and it apears the radio is not on??? I must have missed something but just not sure what, please help.... Doobie

Re: GPS Help???

Do you have location turned on under phone. If you are using agps is the data connection active.

Re: GPS Help???

Use htc gps tool or gps viewer. When you are in the satellite windows for each program do you see satellites.

Re: GPS Help???

I used Holux viewer and HTC, both show 6-7 sats but they indicate RED meaning no lock. On my other XV6800 I get a fast lock and the indicator turns blue or green indicating a lock. Just dosen't make any sense??

Re: GPS Help???

either reflash or check every setting one more time because you have something missing somewhere.

Re: GPS Help???

sometimes if your phone had the mr1 update done (by you, or factory) its better to take it back to stock (win 6.0) and then reflash again to a gps enable windows and gps enable radio (win 6.1 or 6.5)

Re: GPS Help???

It isn't better it is required for standalone gps to work on custom roms after MR1 or MR2. But that isn't his problem since he can see satellite in gps viewer. He would see nothing if the verizon block was still working.

Re: GPS Help???

you are right, about not being necessary because he can already see data but, sometimes (only if you want to) taking it all the way back to stock and reflash back to a custom rom, will get your gps working FASTER than troubleshooting. my humble opinion, i am not trying to tell you my way its the only way.

Re: GPS Help???

Thanks for all the ideas, I did reflash and it took some time but the radio finally responded. It works great with my Odyssey program, voice guidenance and all. The one draw back is that it takes so long to prime but I guess there is nothing that can be done to resolve this. One other question, what is the next best HTC CDMA PDA for Verizon if I wanted to upgrade?

Thanks again for the feedback and the help.
